What is the Border Sector Governance Group (BSGG)?

A

The BSGG’s membership is made up of the chief executives of New Zealand’s border-management-related government agencies. The group’s purpose is to ensure border agencies collaborate and coordinate border management activity to increase the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the border sector.

Border sector agencies include the NZ Customs Service, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Department of Labour, Ministry of Transport, the New Zealand Food Safety Authority (NZFSA), and the Department of Internal Affairs. In addition the BSGG is supported by a secretariat currently located at the NZ Customs Service’s head office.
