Airports Group
The Airports Group is responsible for:
- Ensuring that the movements of passengers, crew and aircraft are legitimate
- Ensuring that all items brought into and taken out of New Zealand by passengers and crew are legitimate
- Making the airport and Customs experience smoother and easier for legitimate passengers
- Managing risk
- Collecting duties, GST and fees on imported goods.
The Group processes arriving and departing air passengers and crew at New Zealand's international airports. This involves:
- Profiling potential risks
- Clearing passengers and crew
- Applying any existing alert instructions that might exist for passengers and crew
- Conducting searches of passengers and their baggage, where necessary.
Airports Group staff are located in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown.
