Every New Zealander has a part to play in protecting the border and revenue. You can help by reporting any suspicious border activity to Customs.
New Zealand Customs Service protects the community from potential trade and travel risks, and facilitates the legitimate movement of people, craft and goods across the border.
Customs is constantly seeking information from the public on any suspicious border activity. That's why we have Coastwatch 0800 4 CUSTOMS (0800 428 786). This is a nationally co-ordinated, 24 hour a day hotline to Customs.
Coastwatch 0800 4 CUSTOMS draws on community knowledge to identify anything that appears unusual or suspicious - whether on land, sea, or in the air.
As a member of the community, your local knowledge can play a vital role in helping Customs protect the border from international crime,illicit drugs , terrorism and other illegitimate activities.
You know what looks suspicious in your area so let Customs know when you see or hear something.
All information and details are treated in confidence.
What you can and cannot do:

Unusual aircraft movements or activity on remote disused airstrips
