Customs on social media

Customs has official profiles on three social media sites: Twitter, Facebook, and Google Plus.
 

We invite you to follow us on Twitter, like us on Facebook, or to include us in your circles on Google Plus so that you can stay up-to-date with the latest information from Customs.

Terms of use for Customs' Twitter account

Customs uses Twitter as a way to communicate and engage with the community and those interested in the work we do.   

Following

By following us on Twitter you can potentially receive several tweets a day including a wide variety of information about Customs’ work including media releases, recruitment information, promotion of our services, and retweets.

We may follow organisations and individuals that are relevant to Customs. This does not imply endorsement or guarantee the accuracy of their information. We will not usually follow individuals, however we may do so temporarily to allow direct messages.

Retweets, @replies, commentary, and third party content

While Customs will attempt to answer all questions, we can’t enter into political discussions or discuss specific cases.

We may retweet, @mention, or post information by other Twitter users for the interest and information of our followers. However, this is neither an endorsement nor guarantee of the accuracy of this user or their information. 

Monitoring

Customs’ Twitter accounts are monitored. We reserve the right to remove any post or comment that does not comply with the Twitter Terms of Service and Twitter Rules, or that may affect our neutrality. We also reserve the right to remove content that is not relevant, is deemed offensive, has political bias, or refers to commercial activity, including advertising.

Customs’ Twitter accounts are monitored from 9am – 5pm on weekdays and sporadically outside these hours. We will try to reply to all questions within one working day.
