John Pocock, New Zealand Customs Service Manager, Audit & Risk.

In his role as Manager Audit & Risk, John Pocock provides the Comptroller with independent assurance on Customs' systems, processes and controls.  John joined the Service in 1999 and is a main point of contact with Audit New Zealand in relation to external audits.

Prior to his appointment with Customs, John held a wide range of positions in the New Zealand Audit Office including Senior Director within its operational arm Audit New Zealand.  He also served as Assistant Auditor-General for the Wellington Region with the Office of the Auditor-General and has held seconded roles within the Treasury, the Australian Audit Office, and the Legislative Department. John is a Chartered Accountant.
