Q

What is an export entry?

A

An export entry is a declaration to Customs of goods to be exported. It is required for commercial consignments with an FOB (Free on Board) value exceeding $1000 and certain personal shipments exceeding this value. Please note that there are certain exemptions from the requirement to lodge an export entry pursuant to Regulation 29 of the Customs and Excise Regulations 1996. An export entry is used to collect trade data, control prohibited exports and more recently it is used to assist in assuring trade security.
