National Call Centre - 0800 4 CUSTOMS (0800 428 786)
The New Zealand Customs Service may choose to record calls received on its 0800 428 786 number. These recordings will only be used by Customs for the purposes stated below and will not be given or transmitted to any other agency. These recordings will be kept securely at New Zealand Customs Service, 50 Anzac Ave, Auckland. These recordings will be kept for a period of 7 years and then destroyed.
Calls are recorded:
- for staff training purposes, helping us to improve the quality of our customer service and to ensure the information we provide is consistent and accurate
- for reporting on the types and numbers of enquiries we receive
- so we can find ways to improve our service to you, and
- to ensure we have an accurate record of your call for use in connection with the functions of Customs.
We understand your personal information is important and we are committed to protecting your privacy. You can request access to and correction of the personal information we hold about you. Unless we have lawful reason for withholding this information we will provide you with access.
