Searching
This section of the New Zealand Customs Service help looks at both basic and advanced searching of the site.
Basic Search
A basic search can be undertaken by entering search criteria in the search box in the header and clicking either "Search" or "Go".

To refine a basic search, change the search criteria on the basic search page.

Advanced Search
An advanced search can be completed by clicking on the "Advanced Search" link within the header, or following the link on the basic search page.

Advanced Search Fields
Search For: Enter words or a phrase to search for. To search for an exact phrase, surround the phrase with quotes (e.g. "New Zealand Customs Service").
Search By:
- All = search over keywords, metadata description anddocument titles
- Titles = search in document titles only
- Keywords and Summary = search keywords and metadata description only
- Free text.
Site Area: Restricts the search to a certain area of the site.
Search Results
Once a search has been completed from the header, the search results are displayed. To view a page, click the title and the page will open in a new window.

To refine your search, click "Search Again" (or scroll up) and you will be taken back to either the advanced or basic search screen.
