Client Codes
For shipments in excess of NZ$1,000, a client (importer) code is required as part of the
import entry preparation. A client code is a unique number that identifies the importer. Client codes are only issued to New Zealand entities (such as registered New Zealand companies).
Applications for client codes should be made on the
Application for Client Code form and faxed to your local
Customs office (at the client service fax number if shown) supported by the following evidence of identity:
- applications from companies and charitable trusts – Certificate of Incorporation
- applications from individuals – passport or drivers licence
- applications from other than charitable trusts (applied for in the name of the trustee) – passport or drivers licence.
