FrontLine Business Partnerships

FrontLine is a business partnership programme, aimed at linking the New Zealand Customs Service and business in partnerships in trade, community development, and enforcement. It means Customs and the business partner will undertake to work together to understand each other’s tasks and problems, and look for practical solutions. Through FrontLine, Customs:

  • offers to work with new and emerging businesses, and provide information, support, and advice – Customs is committed to helping New Zealand communities develop economically
  • asks businesses to sign up to helping protect New Zealand from prohibited imports, especially illicit drugs – businesses handling a lot of freight (such as couriers, freight forwarders, and transport companies) have a lot of expertise in recognising when something is not right
  • asks our partners to call if they see anything unusual or suspicious
  • provides education, support, and advice to help our business partners avoid becoming an unwitting tool in illegal activities.
Every business has different issues, and FrontLine is designed to be flexible. Each partnership focuses on what is important to that individual business.
