A certain amount of basic preparation before you travel is almost bound to make the experience better and less stressful. If you get all the regulations and paperwork sorted in advance; and if you learn a few reasonably important bits of information about the country you are visiting – such as what language they speak, what currency they use and what side of the road they drive on – you are less likely to get into trouble and more likely to experience surprises that are fun and exciting, rather than unwelcome and distressing.
