1. What is the definition of geographical area in respect of off-site storage areas? Is this 'law' or 'policy'?

A

There is no definition of “geographical area” contained within The Act.  The NZ Customs Service own internal policy states that when considering the licensing of offsite storage areas, any applications for a licence for an offsite storage area outside the same geographical region as the manufacturing area that is making the wine should be referred to Customs for consideration.
