Export clearance & entry procedures

Our role in exporting is not only to protect the border but also to promote trade and supply chain security. All commercial goods leaving New Zealand are of interest to Customs.

Export goods need to be cleared using an export entry clearance or Electronic Cargo Information (ECI). This gives us detailed information on your goods and allows us to clear them for export.

New Zealand Customs has internationally recognised initiatives in place designed to promote greater freedom of movement and the enhanced security of your exports.
