COVID-19: Goods clearance fees deferral
12 month deferral of scheduled import/export fee changes.
The Government has agreed to a 12-month deferral of the scheduled fee changes for Customs’ clearance of imported and exported goods across New Zealand’s borders.
The Government has also agreed to continue with the introduction of one of the planned changes that helps to protect the intellectual property of businesses – businesses no longer need to provide Customs with a $5,000 security when they request the detention of goods that infringe upon their intellectual property rights.
