Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Plan

This plan was developed in collaboration with our Unions and articulates our commitment to reducing our gender, Māori and Ethnic Pay Gaps. It’s supported by data analysis.

Our Pay Gap objective is to ensure that all our people and those who join Customs have equal opportunities to develop and earn.

We do this work because it’s the right thing to do and will lead to more fairness and equality in our workplace. It is completely aligned to our values.

System Maturity Assessments

The Government expects Customs to regularly publish information about our regulatory systems. Publishing information about our regulatory systems:

  • increases awareness and visibility of system pain points, gaps, risks, and opportunities
  • gives stakeholders and other agencies more awareness and time to prepare for changes
  • supports better stakeholder engagement on our regulatory performance and improvement priorities.
