Last year, New Zealand signed the Artemis Accords, which promote the peaceful exploration of deep space and include support for the multi-nation Artemis program, which aims to return humans to the moon, as well as reach Mars and beyond.
New Zealand Customs was involved in work on the Space Framework Agreement, which formalises GST and customs duty exemptions for specialist equipment NASA imports into New Zealand for joint space research and development under the Agreement.
