Equipment for smoking or taking drugs
You can’t bring methamphetamine and cannabis utensils and their parts, including any pipe with a heatproof bowl into NZ.
These items are prohibited which means you can’t bring or import them into New Zealand:
- bongs and hash pipes
- certain vaporisers and their parts
- roach clips with a pincer or tweezer
- any item for using methamphetamine.
Exception: Tobacco pipes aren’t included.
Vaporisers
A vaporiser that has been approved as a medical device by an overseas regulator is not a cannabis utensil and can be imported. The importation of any other vaporiser is prohibited under the Misuse of Drugs (Prohibition of Utensils) Notice 2020. Importing items prohibited under this Notice are liable to be seized at the border and destroyed.
