Information for the credit limit increase effective as at February 2022.


What is the legislative authority for this credit limit increase?

The Chief Executive has made this decision under section 123(2) of the Customs and Excise Act 2018. 

Why has Customs increased my credit limit?

Over the last few years businesses have adapted well to ever changing global supply chain challenges, which have included significant changes to the way they order goods. Customs has decided to increase selected credit limits that businesses hold with us to allow trade to flow more smoothly. 

When will the new credit limit take effect?

This change will be made in the next few days. You will receive an email notification when the new credit limit has been applied.   

What if I do not want my credit limit increased?

If you do not wish your credit limit to be increased please advise us via email at Creditincrease@customs.govt.nz and we will restore your original credit limit.  

What if I want a different credit limit?

Please contact Revenue@customs.govt.nz 

Will this change my billing?

No, this will not change how you receive or pay your invoice.
