Reminder for departing yachts on C4G/Temporary Import Entry

03.06pm 08 March 2023

In January 2022, the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) issued a notice that the COVID-19 extension for vessels that were in New Zealand on a C4G/Temporary Import Entry, would conclude on 30 June 2022.

Customs accepted at the time of that reminder notice, that under the COVID-19 environment there were a number of vessels that were unable to comply. Customs took this into consideration and the date was extended for a further twelve (12) months.

Final date for export of your vessel is 30 June 2023.

Yacht owners must continue to abide by the conditions set out in their C4G. Any breach of these conditions will invalidate the C4G and therefore this further extension.

If you are intending to sell your vessel while it is under a C4G/TIE, permission must first be given by NZCS. If you have any questions or require clarification please email: service.delivery@customs.govt.nz.

If you intend on leaving New Zealand and have further questions regarding the departure process, visit the Recreational vessels, yachts and small craft webpage.
